Third Grade Tracks, February 22nd

Wow, what a fast a furious week, this 4-day week seems to be!    We have been busy learning about telling time, time intervals, and looking at elapsed time.  Be sure to have your child continually telling time on an analog clock and practicing time such as, “how many more minutes until bed, dinner, homework, etc.”  In reading we are just beginning to work on our autobiography. The students will be developing a timeline to coincide with the events they placed on their homework.  I think they are going to enjoy working on this!

Next week will be another fast and furious week with two days of early dismissal.  DON’T forget that your child will be sharing all of the great things they are doing and what goals they have to make the rest of 3rd grade a success.

Here are a few things to know:

  • Updated newsletter- Third Grade has moved to an on-line form of the newsletter.  You will be viewing the newsletter through SMORE.  The great news, it is still linked to my “Classroom News”, just click and read.  I think you will see it is much easier to find what you are looking for in our newsletter.
  • Don’t forget to be using Think Through Math and Istation to enhance your child’s math and reading skills.  They are very helpful tools and can be accessed off of my “web links”.
  • Please be sure to check your child’s agenda daily.  I have been having some behavior issues occurring more frequently and therefore more agenda signatures are happening.   Don’t hesitate to email or call me if you have any questions.

I hope that everyone has a fabulous weekend! This weather has definitely brought on the spring fever!

Cordially,

Mrs. Hidalgo
